Pre-Treatment Water Quality Program Bill
Fast-Tracked
A bill that proposes
to increase fees by 300 percent for industrial
dischargers and transfer enforcement of pretreatment
permits from the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) to the Colorado Department of Public
Health and Environment was introduced Monday,
February 4th, and will be heard in the Senate Health
& Human Services Committee tomorrow, February 8th,
at 1:30 p.m.
CACI has expressed
concerns about SB-141, which is sponsored by Senator
Abel Tapia (D-Pueblo) and Representative Randy
Fischer (D-Fort Collins).
Senator Tapia has
scheduled a meeting to discuss the bill tomorrow,
Friday, February 8th, at 12 Noon in a third-floor
Senate Committee Room. CACI members and others who
discharge to domestic wastewater treatment works are
encouraged to attend the meeting.
