Top 10 Things To Do In Evergreen

Why visit? Evergreen is a picturesque town tucked into the Rocky Mountain foothills, and it's bursting with fun for all ages.

Once you get a taste, you'll never want to leave! When you share the road with elk, recognize most of the people at local festivals, and know that any day of the year provides the opportunity for fresh air, exploration and outdoor recreation, it's hard to resist the gravitational pull of Evergreen.

Spring is a season of appreciation in Evergreen. Long-standing festivals and events honor Native American culture, the environment and community leaders, and there are plenty of opportunities to experience the best of Evergreen!

Summer is all about outdoors here. Take in the sun during the day by exploring our many parks and trails and attend free concerts during the evening. Fill up on fresh fruit and veggies at the Farmers' Markets and outdoor dining at the many restaurants and cafés. Spend time in solitude enjoying public or private art, or dance with your friends at many of our live music venues.

1. Enjoy wildlife and nature

Make a stop at the Evergreen Nature Center in our historic downtown, with animal and bird displays including hands-on furs and antlers that the kids will love! Download their Evergreen lake bird check- list to take with you and keep an eye our for many of our winged friends.

There are many parks and trails in the area with great hiking at all levels. Check out our Visitors Guide for outdoor attractions including Elk Meadow, Three Sisters/Alderfer, Mt. Falcon and Flying J. Plus, our 5 favorite playgrounds will keep the kids playing for hours!

2. Treat yourself to a spa day

Wanna get pampered, and treat yourself to a manicure, pedicure, facial, or massage? Evergreen has them all.

3. Go shopping

There are more than 180 businesses just in the Downtown Evergreen area alone. Whether you're in search of clothing and gifts or skateboards and décor, it's all here! Make your way down the historic boardwalk full of boutique shopping, coffee shops, and unique restaurants, before heading over to Evergreen Lake for a paddleboard rental! 4. Learn

There's tons of opportunities to learn something new up here! Attend an art class at Center for the Arts Evergreen, or get the 411 on wines from our local winery! Or, if you fancy, wander through our many of our local museums or galleries, including the Hiwan Heritage Park & Museum.

5. Listen to live music

You may be surprised by just how much live music (including bands, individual performers and open mic) you can find in Evergreen. From restaurants and bars to breweries and the winery, you can dance, sing along or just tap your toe while you chow down. Check out Cactus Jacks, the Woodcellar, and the Little Bear, Revival Brews, and Blackbird Cafe for regular live music, or attend one of our community festivals!

6. Bike

From scenic, smooth road cycling routes to hardcore mountain bike trails, Evergreen has plenty of options for you to explore by bike. Check out biking trail maps at our Visitors Center (1524 Belford Ct., Evergreen CO) or on our community app Everything Evergreen!

7. Hike

Our many parks and extensive trail system offers enjoyable hikes for all levels. Our favorites include Elk Meadow Open Space and Bear Mountain, Maxwell Falls, and Three Sisters/Alderfer. Check out the Jeffco Open Space Website or drop by our Visitor's Center for maps.

8. Dine al fresco on one of our many decks

There are year-round events and most are free to the public.
